THE ISOLATION SESSIONS
We’re Keeping the Music Going Through These Tough Times
Starting Monday March 23, 2020, Fiona will be set up to host ONSTAGE from her living room! Using Hubcasting technology, we continue to build a "community through content" while practicing "physical distancing" allowing us to still produce our concert series when we all need the healing of music the most.
If you’re a musician with original tunes, we want to help you get them out to the world with the "Isolation Sessions" of ONSTAGE. If selected, these will be included in our livestreamed shows and be considered for our television series at a later date.
In a time of uncertainty, music is here for us as we physically distance ourselves just as it helps society's most vulnerable. We are super excited to be partnering with Music Heals Canada as we all muddle through this together.
Music Heals supports a wide range of music therapy services to communities in BC and across Canada and increases access to music therapy for patients in children’s hospitals, senior’s centres, palliative care, AIDS & HIV programs, at-risk youth, habilitation, and bereavement support. Learn more about Music Heals HERE.
If you are interested in submitting your original music for consideration, please refer to the technical specs below. Feel free to send one or up to six songs. If you would like to share what the song is about, please do!
TECHNICAL SPECS
SMART PHONE or iPAD VIDEO
If you’re shooting on a smart phone or iPad, please shoot HORIZONTALLY not vertically. Be sure that you’re framed up nicely and we can see all of you in the picture. Do a test and check the picture to make sure that you’re well lit. If possible, please have your video record setting at 1080p HD at 30 fps (not 720p).
AUDIO
Same goes for audio. The smartphone mic should work just fine, but again do a test to make sure the sound is up to your standards. Have a look at how Jann Arden shot hers. It’s simply a phone propped up at a good angle close enough to her so the audio works great!
